Dat een carrière nooit stil staat, ontdekte UT-alumnus Gerald Spijksma. Als postdoc werkte hij in Amerika, koos later voor het bedrijfsleven, vloog de hele wereld over en keerde uiteindelijk terug naar Twente voor een baan als operationeel manager bij Global Electronics in Haaksbergen.

From practical to passion
UT alumnus Gerald Spijksma knows from first-hand experience that a career is never static. As a postdoc he worked in America, then later chose a path in industry, travelled the world, and eventually returned to Twente for a job as Operations Manager at Global Electronics in Haaksbergen.

‘Met open houding en juiste drive kom je een heel eind’
Dat Rebeka Zanechalova ooit Nederland als haar nieuwe thuis zou kiezen, had ze tijdens haar jeugd in Slowakije nooit kunnen bedenken. Haar reis naar Enschede bleek bovendien een aaneenschakeling van toevalligheden. Met plannen om een huis te kopen in de regio is de UT-alumna vastbesloten om te blijven.
