Taalbeleid: ‘Over drie jaar praten we er niet meer over’
Engels als formele taal en waar het kan, maar blijf gerust Nederlands praten bij het koffieapparaat. Dat is in een notendop de uitwerking van het taalbeleid op de UT, zoals het college van bestuur onlangs naar de universiteitsraad stuurde. Die geeft eind maart advies over het beleidsstuk.

Language policy: 'No longer an issue in three years’ time’
English will be used as the formal language and wherever possible, but you can keep on talking Dutch at the coffee machine. That, in a nutshell, is the language policy at the UT, which the Executive Board recently sent to the University Council. At the end of March, the council will advise on the policy document.

The UT study associations handed over a signed ‘manifest’ on internationalization to UT chairman Victor van der Chijs, this morning. The shared message: ‘There’s a lot going on, but we’re not quite there yet.’
