Education prize: The professor of the history of industrial design, Jan Willem (“JW”) Drukker, won the Central Education Prize. Three finalists held lectures for about fifty students on Thursday, July 2. The two other candidates in line for the prize were Ringo Ossewaarde, a lecturer in sociology and Stefan Kooij, a lecturer in physics. The jury appointed Drukker as winner for his great enthusiasm and interaction in the classroom with students. The Central Education Prize, a cash prize of 2,500 euros, is awarded at the opening of the next academic year on Monday, August 31.
