Thirty million for energy research

| Redactie

The Minister of Economic Affairs and the Minister of Environment have made thirty million euros available for the three technological universities to conduct research in cooperation with the Energy Research Center Netherlands (ECN). They have appointed the budget for their Advanced Dutch Energy Materials Innovation Lab, otherwise known as ADEM. With the additional funding, the lab can evolve into a powerful booster of energy technology in the Netherlands.

ADEM is an initiative of the 3TU-federation and ECN. In collaboration, the three groups want to give a boost to Dutch materials research in energy technology. The investment of thirty million euros will be put into equipment and the development of young top talent. It is expected that about 35 PhD students can participate in the educational program. The research is aimed at projects dealing with solar cells, wind turbines, electricity storage and biomass conversion.
