Building Peace in Africa

The tenth annual African Student Conference (ASC) will be held at the Institute of Social Studies in the Hague on November 15. A growing number of Africans live in urban settlements, a number which is expected to reach 500 million by 2015. Many of these urban areas are ridden with crime, lack of clean water and inadequate public services. Speakers will discuss the subject of peace, justice and democracy in Africa with the intent of raising awareness and promoting interdisciplinary and intercultural dialogue.
