Speak Dutch in a casual setting

The University of Twente is home to students hailing from all parts of the world. Yet the main language spoken by most of the staff and international students is English. The Taalcoordinatiepunt (TCP: language co-ordination point) created the ideal to start an informal get-together every week, which could offer the chance for students and staff to practice their English language skills. Every Thursday, between 12.30pm and 1.15pm at the Theatercafé in the Vrijhof , TCP offers a venue for all English language lovers. For those who are still struggling with refining their spoken English, this lunch get-together provides the perfect opportunity to speak Dutch in a casual setting. No membership is required. All that is needed is a passion to learn or help others to learn the English language. Of course, there is the added benefit of meeting new people and increasing your social circle. As Phing Choo, a TCP staff member says, `It doesn't matter if your English is good or bad, Thursday lunches at the café will be something you can surely benefit from and enjoy.'
