`You don't get awards that often, of course. On the other hand, I know this article gets cited a lot, so I wasn't that surprised.'
Are you as proud as a peacock now?
`It's not that bad. But I'm very proud of course. We've been doing research in the field of membranes for some time now and it's nice that others attach importance to it. We did have a small party with our colleagues.'
What is the article about?
`It describes how certain non-porous membranes can extract oxygen from the air. This makes the conversion of natural gas to fluid products a lot easier.'
And what is the award exactly?
`It's just a certificate that says I'm the most-cited author in the field of catalysis. It's somewhere on my desk now, but when I get a frame for it, it will get a nice spot on my wall.'
