IAPC. Computer store IAPC will once again be open during lunch breaks. After last year's board crisis - during which the store was open only one day a week - five new students are ready to run the store. In Waaier 232, students can buy computers, supplies and accessories from Monday to Friday, 12:30-13:45 pm.

English. For those who want to improve their English, Froukje van Veggel and Julie Bytheway will be available during lunch in the Theatercafé on Thursday. The two employees of the Language Coordination Center want to contribute to the maintaining or improving the level of English of UT students and employees. Everyone is welcome.

Salsa. From Saturday, September 8, a salsa workshop will be offered in the Vrijhof. The dancing lessons are part of the national campaign `Kom in beweging' (`Start moving') and are meant to get more people physically active. For anyone who wants to start Saturday swinging, the Audiozaal is open at 9:30 am. For more information please contact the Vrijhof or log on to www.cultuur.utwente.nl.

Opening. The opening of the academic year of the UT will take place in the Enschede Music Center on Monday, September 10, a week later than usual. The ceremony starts at 11:00 am. The speakers will be Hans-Gert Pöttering, chairman of the European Parliament, and Frans Timmermans, state secretary for European Affairs. The thesis prizes, education prize and the Enschede prize will be awarded during the opening. Afterwards, a lunch will be served.

Presentation. The Pakistani Students Association is organizing a Nationality presentation on Monday 10 September, 4:45 pm, Bastille Atrium followed by a dinner at 6:30 pm, Faculty Club. Entrance: € 2
