The value of internationalisation
Without any exception, universities in the Netherlands strive towards a more international student community. Right now, the University of Twente counts more than 65 nationalities among its student population and if one thing, I am proud on this. I strongly believe that a scientific community more than any other should have an international orientation, not only because science is global but even more since living and working together in study and research creates an atmosphere of mutual understanding, an understanding that is more than ever needed in an interdependent world.
