New Board of UT-governors

Thursday 18 January the Supervisory Board of the University of Twente has appointed the new Board of Governors. Consisting of five people. They will take office on 1 February. They are: Professor dr. F.A. van Vught (50) who is the Rector Magnificus/chairman of the Board; Professor P.M.G. Apers (48), former dean of the faculty Computer Science, who will take on the portfolio of research, Professor H.E. Roosendaal (53), former director of the DINKEL Institute, for internal processes and personnel; Professor H.M. de Jong (46), former dean of the faculty of Public Administration and Public Policy, for education; for the fifth position, financial affairs, someone from outside the university has been chosen: H. Barbas (53), who is Director Corporate Finance and Fiscal Affairs at Bührmann NV.

The faculty of EEMCS has been shaken by unrest following the announcement of a social safety issue involving two research groups. For the first time, Mirije van Dijk, managing director, responds on behalf of the faculty board to questions about the impact of the situation. ‘There is no single simple solution.’

Faculteitsbestuur EEMCS: ‘Hadden eerder met elkaar het goede gesprek moeten voeren’

Binnen de faculteit EEMCS is veel onrust ontstaan na de bekendmaking over een socialeveiligheidskwestie bij twee vakgroepen. Mirije van Dijk, directeur bedrijfsvoering, reageert namens het faculteitsbestuur voor het eerst op vragen over de impact van de kwestie. ‘Er is niet één eenvoudige oplossing voorhanden.’
