More and more education will in future be offered in English. Also at the UT. The CvB wants to investigate, especially in the light of the bachelor-master developments, whether it is possible to offer masters' programmes completely in English. Two TO-students have been asked to investigate the level and quality of the English of UT-teachers.

English as language of instruction is also getting more popular at universities elsewhere in the country. Tilburg University, for example, wants to introduce English as language of instruction within ten years. Leiden University wants to offer an English language master's alternative to all programmes from 2005. Wageningen University will make it compulsory for its students to do the final two years of their programme in English from 2003.
