Male engineers turn out to marry more often than colleagues from other disciplines. For women the opposite is true: those who choose science or technology run the biggest chance to stay single. Women with a medical degree have the best chance of getting married and having children. And, by the way, they do that strikingly often with male medical colleagues.
Why people in one area marry more often than people in the other has not been researched properly, according to Louisa Blackwell of the Institute of Education in London.
