The Spanish film (with Dutch subtitles) from 1998 and directed by Julio Medem, is about Otto and Ana, who know from the first time they meet that they belong together. They are eight years old, and sit silently in the back seat while their parents fall in love in the front seat. As teenagers, and stepbrother and -sister, they kiss for the first time over a geography book on the Pole Circle. One of the many seemingly irrelevant details, which turn out to be significant later. In turn the perspective of both Otto and Ana is shown, so that both versions of the romance can be compared. A beautiful fairy-tale with love on the Pole Circle.
