About the reasons for this choice, Pedro comments: "I need to move on. During my first 4 years here I did my PhD and that was my driving force. Afterwards, I started a post-doc. The thrill was not the same. My life in Enschede turned out to be a routine with the extra ingredient that I never got the feeling of settling down. In a nutshell, this is the reason to leave Enschede. The need to go back to Argentina followed immediately."
But going back does not mean wiping the slate clean. "By no means do I regret these last six years of my life. I enjoyed it and I learned a lot. My choice took me to a diversity of places that a person rarely has access to. Besides, I consider the group of research in which I work here to be above average. And I believe myself to be an above average researcher, too - arrogance included", the Argentinean says smiling.
Pedro's career expectations have been always the same: he has always pursued an academic career. "With time, I may have become less radical in my point of view, but the perspective of progressing in the academic area is still appealing to me. I'll try to do it now in Argentina", Pedro says while picturing himself back at home.
