The UT staff choir, de Kringzingers, will perform its traditional Christmas concert at lunchtime on 17 December.

The choir and its conductor, Mariette Effing, have chosen for music from the 19th and 20th century with a traditional character. They will perform a selection from 'Ten Old-Dutch Christmas songs' for mixed unaccompanied choir by Louis Toebosch. The programme also features songs with piano accompaniment by the Englishman John Rutter 'Star carol' and 'The twelve days of Christmas'. The choir is, as usual, accompanied on piano by Gerard van Kempen. As a musical intermezzo he will perform a nocturne by Johannes van Bree.

A group of UT bachelor’s students was selected by the European Space Agency’s academy programme, to work on a project with an octopus-inspired tentacle that can remove space debris. This November, the team called RobOcto, is invited to test their prototype at the ESA ESTEC facility in Noordwijk.

UT-studenten testen octopusachtige robotarm bij ESA Academy

Een groep UT-bachelorstudenten is geselecteerd voor het academieprogramma van de European Space Agency (ESA). Ze werken aan een op een octopus geïnspireerde tentakel die ruimteafval kan verwijderen. In november mag het team, genaamd RobOcto, zijn prototype testen bij ESA ESTEC in Noordwijk.

Kabinet: miljoenen extra voor bouw studentenkamers

De regering trekt tientallen miljoenen uit voor de bouw van studentenkamers. Dat staat in een nieuw ‘actieplan’ dat de woningbouw in beweging moet krijgen.
