For a number of years the Centre for Information Services (CIV) has offered a large number of IT-courses for staff and students of the University of Twente. For a number of years the Centre for Information Services (CIV) has offered a large number of IT-courses for staff and students of the University of Twente.

From 1 January 2002 the course system will change. Courses up to now were given in the large CIV-course room, from January onwards this will be done in another room (D-120C), where during three days a week, four complete workspaces are available for course participants.

The principle is that all courses are offered in the shape of private study with guidance. The advantage is that usually one can take the desired course immediately. Participation will be possible on the basis of "open registration".

Workspaces and courses on offer have been brought up to date. The set up and way of working will be geared toward the demand.

In special cases courses for groups can be organised.

A group of UT bachelor’s students was selected by the European Space Agency’s academy programme, to work on a project with an octopus-inspired tentacle that can remove space debris. This November, the team called RobOcto, is invited to test their prototype at the ESA ESTEC facility in Noordwijk.

Kabinet: miljoenen extra voor bouw studentenkamers

De regering trekt tientallen miljoenen uit voor de bouw van studentenkamers. Dat staat in een nieuw ‘actieplan’ dat de woningbouw in beweging moet krijgen.
