Last Thursday night SMIT and the International Office organised the annual Christmas dinner. This year it was held in the BB-canteen, decorated especially for the occasion in a Christmas atmosphere. Following tradition, all participants brought typical dishes from their home countries to share their culture with the others. Santa Claus paid a short visit to open this feast in style.

Hyves is terug; blijvertje of nostalgie?

UT wil gat dichten naar 100 procent open access

Alliance VU-UT werkt nu ook aan uitgraven landmijnen

Universitair hoofddocent Alberto Martinetti werkte al met studenten aan een kostenefficiënte methode voor het opsporen van landmijnen, inmiddels is daar ook het uitgraven ervan met een rijdende robot bijgekomen. Vanavond vertelt hij erover op NPO2, in het programma ‘Klaar voor de Oorlog’.

VU-UT alliance now also working on excavating landmines

Associate professor Alberto Martinetti was already working with students on a cost-effective method for detecting landmines, but the project has now expanded to include excavating them using a mobile robot. Tonight, he will discuss the project on NPO 2 in the programme Klaar voor de Oorlog.

Universiteiten willen nog meer samenwerken met Defensie

De universiteiten hebben een intentieverklaring met het ministerie van Defensie getekend: ze willen vaker samenwerken. Ze zetten hun handtekening na een reeks gesprekken over academische vrijheid.
