Worldwide thousands of mailing lists exist on internet on any number of subjects. One can subscribe to them and exchange news and views on a certain subject. The CIV manages a computer system for these mailing lists (Listserv).
The new list server has as its most important advantage that an archive can be set up, consulted and maintained via the internet.
