The students at the University of Twente are happiest about their study-programme. Professors, on the other hand, put Twente third and think that the best technical university is in Eindhoven. The students at the University of Twente are happiest about their study-programme. Professors, on the other hand, put Twente third and think that the best technical university is in Eindhoven. This is shown by the Elsevier-NIPO poll 2000.

This poll confirms what earlier polls have already shown: the large classical universities lose when compared to the smaller institutions. The keywords are modern, small-scale and decisive. Twente is followed closely by the universities of Tilburg and Maastricht; and Eindhoven too is almost a match for Twente.

The UT is represented by five of its programmes: Public

Administration and Public Policy (BSK), Applied Communication (TCW), Civil Engineering (WB), Electrical Engineering (EL) and Industrial Engineering and Management (TBK). The students put Twente on top five times. The professors also gave their judgement. Seventeen programmes were judged by both professors and students. Twente has two hit programmes according to Elsevier; both lists are topped by BSK and TCW.

Postdoc network secures grant to improve social safety at UT

The Postdoc Network @ UT, in collaboration with HR and the DEI Office and supported by PE-NUT, secured a grant of 170 thousand euros to improve social safety for postdocs, PhD and EngD students.
