The R'chestra performs music from the most diverse spots in the world, usually brought with them from journeys and tours. Music from, among others, Russia, India, Uzbekistan, former Yugoslavia and China.

The R'chestra does not try to bring folklore, but tries to approach the music in its own open-minded way. A number of refugee musicians presents, accompanied by The R'chestra, what their displacement has done to them. This is part of a project of the 'Stichting WHAA' (working group help for asylum seekers) and The R'chestra, which should result in a CD.

This Broodje Cultuur (culture sandwich) is organised in co-operation with the campus group of Amnesty International because of Human Rights Day (10 December).

Postdoc network secures grant to improve social safety at UT

The Postdoc Network @ UT, in collaboration with HR and the DEI Office and supported by PE-NUT, secured a grant of 170 thousand euros to improve social safety for postdocs, PhD and EngD students. Initiator Ashkan Ghanbarzadeh-Dagheyan hopes the project can help them ‘to know how and when to ask for help’.

Postdoc Network haalt beurs binnen voor verbetering sociale veiligheid UT

Het Postdoc Network @ UT haalde onlangs een beurs van 170 duizend euro binnen voor een project om de sociale veiligheid van postdocs, promovendi en EngD-kandidaten te verbeteren. Initiatiefnemer Ashkan Ghanbarzadeh-Dagheyan hoopt dat het project hen helpt ‘hoe en wanneer ze om hulp moeten vragen’.

Een 18-jarige Franse student is overleden na een studentenfeest. Zijn familie doet aangifte van ‘ontgroening’, waar in Frankrijk een half jaar gevangenisstraf op staat.
