For the International Office and its services for the international guests of the University of Twente, 2000 was a special year. Every week the UT-nieuws now features an English page, which also provides the opportunity for international guests to give their opinion on the university.

The Intensive Week of Dutch language and culture and its follow-up courses for anyone staying at the university for two years or more are a great success. Furthermore, several English publications have been issued, such as the 'Welcome to the University of Twente' booklet, the Campus/Union guide and the new edition of the Information Map. (You can pick up a copy of any of these publications at the International Office.)

All faculties have received a booklet on what to do and who to contact when receiving international guests at the UT. And last, but not least, the student organisation S.M.I.T. once again organised its famous Christmas dinner for all international guests. In short, the International Office looks back on a successful year.

The upcoming year will aim to improve the services even more. This will be done by improving our English website, but also by having more personal contacts with you. Our aim is to ensure that you fully enjoy your stay in Twente.

Postdoc network secures grant to improve social safety at UT

The Postdoc Network @ UT, in collaboration with HR and the DEI Office and supported by PE-NUT, secured a grant of 170 thousand euros to improve social safety for postdocs, PhD and EngD students. Initiator Ashkan Ghanbarzadeh-Dagheyan hopes the project can help them ‘to know how and when to ask for help’.

Postdoc Network haalt beurs binnen voor verbetering sociale veiligheid UT

Het Postdoc Network @ UT haalde onlangs een beurs van 170 duizend euro binnen voor een project om de sociale veiligheid van postdocs, promovendi en EngD-kandidaten te verbeteren. Initiatiefnemer Ashkan Ghanbarzadeh-Dagheyan hoopt dat het project hen helpt ‘hoe en wanneer ze om hulp moeten vragen’.
