By 2010, fifteen percent of professors should be female. Currently, only five percent are female. The executive board feels the UT `simply cannot afford not to use the female potential.' They base their conclusion on a report that was approved earlier this month.
The under-representation of women at the top of the UT shows in the statistics on 2005. Of 150 professors, only 8 are female. For associate professors, that is 14 out of 115 (twelve percent) and for support and management staff (OBP) in salary scale 12 or higher, 15 out of 96 staff members are female (sixteen percent). The board plans to drastically increase those percentages by 2010, using an extensive package of measures. It will reserve 422,000 euros annually to accomplish that goal. By 2010, a quarter of the associate professors should be female, as well as thirty-five percent of OBP staff in salary scales twelve and higher. The board calls the targets `ambitious.'
